The Team

Sarah Cavanaugh, Director

Sarah Cavanaugh joined MacDougall Biomedical Communications as a Director in 2007. Sarah brings more than ten years of experience in health care communications with a focus on strategic planning, corporate positioning, investor relations, public relations, crisis communications, public policy development, media advocacy, and product marketing/advertising. Prior to joining MBI, Sarah was Director of Corporate Communications at Point Therapeutics, Inc. (POTP), a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company developing drug candidates for use in cancer and type 2 diabetes, where she was responsible for building an internal investor and public relations program.

Her previous positions include Director of Corporate Communications at Fallon Community Health Plan—consistently ranked one of the nation's top managed care organizations—where she led the company's marketing and communications department and Division Communications and Marketing Director for the Mid-South Division of the American Cancer Society where she directed six states in marketing and communications initiatives in the fight against cancer. Sarah also held various other positions with the American Cancer Society including Regional Marketing and Communications Director for the Gulf Coast and Director of Communications and Government Relations for the New Hampshire Division. Sarah graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham with a B.A. in English and Women's Studies.
