Shai Biran, Ph.D.

Associate Account Executive

Shai Biran, Ph.D., is an Associate Account Executive at MacDougall Biomedical Communications. Shai joined MacDougall in summer 2017 and has a scientific background in the areas of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and protein biology. After working as a researcher in a Boston based biotechnology company developing novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases and completing a Ph.D. in structural Biology, Shai decided to move to the business side of biotech and pharma. In 2016, he joined a NY based PR and IR firm, where he helped clients with fund raising, arranged media interviews, pitched media and drafted press releases. After moving to Boston Shai joined the MacDougall team where he applies his knowledge and experience to help biotech and pharma companies tell their story in a compelling way, reaching investors and media alike. Shai received his Ph.D. in structural biology at the Weizmann Institute in Israel, and has an M.Sc. degree in molecular biology, studying neurodegenerative diseases, and a B.Sc. in biotechnology from the Tel Aviv University, Israel.
